Mosaic art

art

Mosaic means “mosaique” in French, “mosaico” in Italian, and “musivum” in Latin, literally, dedicated to the muses. There is so much sensuality, beauty and grace in this word. A mosaic is a pattern laid out on different surfaces (walls, floor, ceiling). The material of the mosaic is ceramics and glass, as well as wood, simple stones, smalt, etc.

During the training you will:

  • master the basics of working with mosaics;
  • get acquainted with the traditional ways of laying mosaics: direct and reverse;
  • work with transparent and opaque glass smalt, as well as with ceramic mosaics;
  • be sure to work with special tools: glass cutter, mosaic tongs, etc;
  • During the classes, you will learn in detail the rules for creating a sketch for a mosaic.

We offer a choice of:

  • Ancient Roman mosaic (unswept floor technique);
  • Byzantine mosaic (interior stand);
  • decorative mosaic (flowers, peacock/firebird feather, vase).
